The 100 feet long frontage onto South Walsham broad makes an ideal spot for fishing directly from the garden during the season. Previous guests have reported excellent catches including bream, tench and perch. South Walsham broad is also said to be good for pike fishing.

The broads are perfect for keen and casual birdwatchers with grebes, cormorants, coots, herons all mixing with the geese, ducks and swans. Black swans have been sighted on South Walsham broad as have kingfishers.

Wildlife in the area includes the beautiful swallowtail butterfly, rabbits, otters and Muntjacs, which can even occasionally be seen in the cottage garden.
In the village is the famous wildlife and woodland FairHaven gardens which also offers guided wildlife boat trips around the Broad.

The cottage is perfectly placed for boating with 100 ft of quay heading.
A variety of boats can be hired all over the Norfolk broads and you are welcome to moor them alongside.
Please be aware, due to insurance issues we can no longer provide a dinghy for guests' use.
